CYMA is conceived as a contemporary urban landscape where architecture, nature, and social energy converge into a single, fluid experience. Designed as a sequence of interconnected outdoor rooms, the project balances geometry with organic growth, creating a space that feels both structured and alive.
At its core, CYMA explores the relationship between light, material, and movement. Carefully layered hardscape elements are softened by lush planting, mist atmospheres, and water reflections, allowing the environment to shift throughout the day from calm daylight compositions to immersive, cinematic night scenes. The play of sunlight across textured surfaces, combined with controlled artificial lighting, transforms the space into a living canvas.
The project operates on a clear spatial hierarchy: central gathering zones, shaded social clusters, and peripheral circulation paths. This orchestration encourages natural flow while maintaining moments of intimacy within a larger collective experience. Modular structures, lightweight canopies, and crafted wooden elements reinforce a human-scaled environment, while the surrounding urban context anchors the project within the city.
CYMA stands as the conceptual and atmospheric foundation behind Marsa Boulevard at Dubai Festival City, where its design language evolved into a larger public destination. Both projects, developed under WADS, share a unified vision: creating immersive environments that blur the boundary between architecture and landscape, function and emotion.
Through CYMA, WADS establishes a design approach rooted in experience rather than object, where every detail contributes to a continuous narrative of light, texture, and life.
